Monday, October 11, the Vice President did not have any public engagements. On Tuesday, the 12th, she delivered the keynote address at the National Congress of American Indians’ 78th annual convention.
More from this PBS Newshour story:
Harris stressed the inequities faced by indigenous communities from what she called the “epidemic” of “missing and murdered” women and girls, to higher rates of poverty and unemployment.
She said the Biden administration’s agenda “represents the largest investment in Indian country in our history,” proving “more than $31 billion for native communities.”
The Vice President also met with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
For the day’s engagements, she wore Altuzarra, her Kenton Jacket, and either her Serge or Zeke trousers. It looked like she also brought back her Luxe Charmeuse Reversible Perla Blouse ($328) by Lafayette 148 New York.
Wednesday, October 13, Vice President Harris met with Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley.
Ms. Harris appeared to have on the black Turlington Blazer ($2595) by Dolce and Gabbana with matching trousers seen last week. Beneath the jacket, a top we haven’t yet identified.
Also on Wednesday: a terrific photo of the Vice President and Second Gentleman was released in honor of Doug Emhoff’s birthday.
The Vice President is seen wearing one of her bespoke suits by Prabal Gurung, a single-breasted style crafted of a double-crepe material in cornflower blue.
Thursday, October 14, Ms. Harris took part in a virtual roundtable discussion covering care policies ranging from at-home medical Care to childcare. From her remarks:
And as a bottom line, I’ll just say this. In our nation today, it is essential work and our nation runs on care, and therefore, our nation must invest in care. For working people and working women in particular care is a prerequisite to be able to get to work.
Here you see the Vice President with Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), at the wrap-up of the Care Can’t Wait event, part of the administration’s proposed legislation.
Vice President Harris was in what appears to be another Dolce and Gabbana suit, “khaki/olive” is the best color description I can come up with. The jacket has the same design elements seen in several other D&G jackets worn recently by Ms. Harris: a single-breasted silhouette; wide, peaked lapels; three flap pockets and one welted pocket; double back vents.
Monday, October 18, Vice President Harris visited drought-stricken Lake Mead.
More about the visit from this KTNV story:
Harris was able to tour Lake Mead at around noon and received a briefing on the current water level at the lake, including the drought situation affecting Nevada and its surrounding states.
“That light rock represents 140 feet roughly that the lake has declined in the last 20 years. If we look more recently, this calendar year, the lake has actually dropped 20 feet just this year,” a Lake Mead official told the Vice President.
The Vice President appeared to be wearing her tropical-weight wool suit by Prabal Gurung, first noted back in April of this year. The style features notch lapels, two front flap pockets, a double back vent, and a single button front closure button, while the trousers have a straight leg. The Vice President also wore a soft brown top that remains unidentified.
Tuesday, the 19th, Ms. Harris did not have publicly scheduled engagements. Wednesday, October 20, was the Vice President’s Birthday. President Biden had a little surprise for her.
As did her husband, Doug Emhoff, and many members of her staff.
Here is a better view. (That cake looks pretty good, doesn’t it?!)
The birthday celebration was on Capitol Hill, as the Vice President traveled there for two tie-breaking votes. The first was on the Freedom to Vote bill; the second was to confirm Catherine Lhamon as Assistant Education Secretary for Civil Rights. Below, Ms. Harris speaks about the voting rights bill, which did not make it to the next phase.
She also hosted a roundtable with Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.
The Vice President was in an unidentified black and white check suit we have seen her wear previously with a dark top. UPDATE: This very much looks like the Micro Check Print Blazer ($1437, originally $2395) and Straight Leg Houndstooth Trousers ($525, originally $875) by Dolce and Gabbana we first saw in January of this year.
On Thursday, the 21st, Vice President Harris joined President Biden and others at the MLK Memorial for a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the memorial’s dedication.
That evening she campaigned on behalf of former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe, running for that position again.
Ms. Harris looked like she was wearing a black Dolce and Gabbana suit and a lavender shell, the latter marking Spirit Day in support of LGBTQ youth. I struggled with the color of the top, thinking it was the light blue silk top by Prabal Gurung we have seen previously (below), but it really does look more purple in many photos.
The Vice President wrapped up the week with a visit to New York City. Below, arriving at Westchester Airport.
Accompanying the Vice President on Friday, Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra. The duo visited the Northeast Bronx YMCA.
They were there to continue building support for the Administration’s Build Back Better legislation.
Here you see Ms. Harris with the advance team for her trip just before everyone headed back to Washington.
Ms. Harris wore the Dolce and Gabbana pinstripe suit seen last week.
Throughout both weeks, Ms. Harris wore her Tahitian pearl necklace and earrings.
Friday evening, the Vice President hosted four women governors for dinner at her residence.
Lower left, you see Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico; lower right is Governor Janet Mills of Maine; on the upper right, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer; Governor Kate Brown of Oregon is on the upper left.
