Monday, April 12, the Vice President started her week by joining the President for a meeting with a bipartisan group of members of Congress for a discussion about the administration’s infrastructure proposal.
Ms. Harris was in a black suit and white top. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find photos with enough detail to suggest precisely which styles she was wearing. The jacket has peak lapels and four buttons at the cuff.
UPDATE MAY 5: It looks like this is not black, but a dark aubergine or eggplant, a suit seen in November of last year, shown here.
She did have on her Irene Neuwirth double-strand necklace in 18K yellow gold with alternating Akoya and South Sea pearls, which she wore every day this week. Below, an 18″ version of the necklace.
Tuesday, the 13th, the Vice President and Ambassador Susan Rice hosted a roundtable discussion as part of Black Maternal Health Week.
The weeklong series of events is founded and led by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance. The campaign features “awareness, activism, and community building.” This year was the first time the White House issued an official proclamation supporting the campaign.
Vice President Harris and President Biden also met with members of the Congressional Black Caucus in the Oval Office on Tuesday.
Embed from Getty ImagesAnd the Vice President attended a ceremony at the Capitol honoring late Capitol Police Officer William “Billy” Evans, who was killed in early April when a driver deliberately rammed his vehicle into a barricade at the Capitol complex.
Ms. Harris wore Altuzarra separates Tuesday, what appeared to be her Fenice Jacket ($1495), a single-breasted design, and coordinating Serge Pant ($695), a bootcut style.
Wednesday, the 14th, the Vice President held virtual meetings. One was with national security experts and the other with experts focused on immigration and the Northern Triangle (Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala).
I wasn’t able to tell which black suit Ms. Harris was wearing. Her top appeared to be by Lafayette 148 New York, a brand she wears with some frequency. The label’s Luxe Charmeuse Reversible Perla Blouse ($328) is 100% silk, with a scoop neck, shirttail hem. The piece reverses from a shiny surface to a matte finish.
I believe Ms. Harris also owns the Perla in navy blue and black. (You will see the navy blue version referenced below.)
Thursday, April 15, was a busy day. The Vice President and President hosted a meeting with the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus Executive Committee. Among the topics discussed at the meeting: the rise in anti-Asian violence and COVID-19.
The Vice President also delivered remarks about child care coverage included in the administration’s infrastructure proposal. Below you see her with Maria-Isabel Ballivian, executive director of the ACCA Child Development Center, a community-based nonprofit in Annandale, Virginia.
Another view.
The Vice President was in her Kenton Jacket ($1795) by Altuzarra, a single-breasted style with a slim fit emphasized by its darted waist. It appeared she was also wearing the Altuzarra Zeke Trouser ($795). Both pieces are shown below.
We have better look at the styles when Ms. Harris wore them for a Las Vegas trip.
Beneath the jacket the Vice President wore a white top or tee that isn’t yet IDed.
Friday, April 16, the Vice President hosted Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga ahead of a bilateral meeting.
Here you see the Vice President and Prime Minster (with translators) in the Vice President’s ceremonial office.
This is the first visit by a world leader to the White House under the new administration.
Below, on the balcony outside the ceremonial office.
Ms. Harris wore what looks like a new suit with a top I haven’t identified. The blazer is a black single-button style with notch lapels; the trousers are a straight-leg design.
I’ll close with something I forgot to include in last week’s post: a look at the Vice President’s official photo, released a week ago today.
The photo was taken by Lawrence Jackson, the Vice President’s chief photographer. Mr. Jackson wrote about the photo on his Instagram page.
The Washington-based photographer was an official White House Staff Photographer for President Barack Obama.
In the photo portrait, the Vice President is wearing one of her go-to Altuzarra designs, the Fenice Jacket ($1595), in a color called Berry Blue.
Beneath the jacket, it looks like she has on the Lafayette 148 New York Reversible Perla Blouse ($328) in the “ink” colorway. Like the version shown above, this piece is 100% silk, with the same scoop neck and shirttail hem.
The Perla is offered in several other colors at Lafayette 148 New York and at Nordstrom, Saks, and other retailers. Ms. Harris also wears her Irene Neuwirth Pearl Necklace and her gold-bordered mabé pearl earrings in the photo portrait.

Seriously, could there be anything more boring than Kamala’s wardrobe? Black suit, black suit, black suit, maybe navy. I love love love Kamala, but her clothes are no fun. Pricey enough but not particularly enviable. She shouldn’t be known as a ‘dresser’ anyway. A VP has more to worry about than accessories and su ch.

Her clothes should not be Fun. Joe’s clothes aren’t Fun. She is dressing perfectly for her job. To me, that is enviable. God bless her.
