Another face mask the Vice President-elect wears is by Maison Modulare, a California-based company that describes itself as specializing in “Collectible things made by people, not assembly line.”
The Ivory Geometric Lace Mask ($60) is made of white French Leavers Lace, a kind of lace made on antique looms that can create intricate, delicate designs. It is lined in white cotton sateen and has pink elastic ear loops.
More from the company’s site: “We began making face masks at a time when professional PPE was in very short supply. The idea was to offer “civilians” a comfortable and stylish way of protecting themselves and others, to the level needed in everyday life, while taking pressure off the market for professional protective gear. The other part of our idea was to donate one mask to those in need for every mask we sell as part of the #mask4mask initiative.”
