The Vice President-elect was in Joseph Altuzarra separates and a black blouse when receiving her COVID-29 vaccination today.
Both Ms. Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were given their first round of the vaccination. The couple was vaccinated at United Medical Center in Washington, DC, by Patricia Cummings, a clinical nurse manager at the hospital.
More from The Guardian’s coverage:
Just before 11am, Harris appeared before cameras at a hospital and sat down. “OK, let’s do it!” Harris told the nurse administering the vaccine.
“I barely felt it … Literally, this is about saving lives,” Harris said after receiving the vaccine. “I urge everyone: when it’s your turn, get vaccinated.”
We first saw Ms. Harris wearing the Altuzarra designs for Elle magazine’s November cover story.
It looked like the Vice President-elect wore the ‘Eileen’ Jacket and ‘Luther’ Trouser from the A/W ’20 runway collection.
Made of a stretch wool fabric (97% virgin wool/3% Elastane) in a color called ‘Carbon Melange,’ the jacket features exaggerated notch lapels, structured shoulders, a concealed button-front closure, and two flap front pockets. Originally $1995, it is on sale in limited sizes at My Theresa.
The Luther High-Rise Flared Pant is made of the same fabric, with a high-rise silhouette, flared leg, exposed waist darts, side zipper, side slit pockets, and partial lining.
Here is a closer view of the exposed darts at the waist. I go back and forth on whether Ms. Harris had some of the fabric volume removed from the trousers.
The style is 40% off at Altuzarra (now $537); it is $626 at Matches Fashion and $538 at My Theresa. Below, a closer look at today’s ensemble.
Beneath the jacket, Ms. Harris wore a black button-front blouse with a point collar, shirttail hem, and button cuffs in a fabric that looks like silk. I do not yet have the blouse identified. UPDATE 11PM: It looks like the VPE may have been wearing another piece by L’Agence, the ‘Dani’ Silk Three-Quarter Sleeve Blouse ($345).
The piece is 100% silk charmeuse with five front buttons, a yoked back, and an open collar. Thanks to Kamala’s Closet for the tip on this item.
Less than a week ago, the Vice President-elect repeated another Altuzarra ensemble when visiting Fire Station #1 in Washington, DC. She wore the pieces when dropping off a Toys for Tots donation with her husband on Christmas Eve.
This was the first time we have seen Ms. Harris in the separates since they were first worn at the Democratic convention in August.
The VPE wore a customized version of the label’s ‘Indiana’ Blazer (now $957, originally $1595), a double-breasted style made of a 69% Triacetate/31% Polyester fabric blend. It features notched lapels, a chest welt pocket, and two flap pockets.
The Senator’s jacket does not have the top row of buttons seen on the style above. The official color name is ‘Juniper Berry’.
The trousers are similar to the ‘Serge’ High-Rise Flared Crêpe Pants (now $398, originally $559), crafted of the same material. The style features a front zipper, button and hook closure, front and back pockets, and partial lining. Below, Ms. Harris at the convention in August (original post here) and last week at the fire station.
We saw two additional looks over the holidays. On Christmas, Ms. Harris and Mr. Emhoff released a video with holiday greetings.
The Vice President-elect was in a dark jacket and top, accessorized with an oft-worn necklace of gold beads that I have not identified yet and her Marco Bicego ‘Paradise’ Teardrop Studs ($955).
On Saturday, the 26th, the VPE posted a Kwanzaa video on social media.
Her plaid jacket is one we have seen previously. Below, Ms. Harris in the garment at an August Senate hearing.
Embed from Getty ImagesMs, Harris wore it for an appearance on The Reidout with Joy Reid in July and for April 2020 videos encouraging people to take part in the census.
I have not yet looked for the garment but will try and do so this evening. I’ll see you again tomorrow with another post, this one filled with a host of new IDs to share! IDs added since the last post include this Escada suit….
