Among the Vice President’s many styles by Akris is a stylish jacket with pleating at the back waist; she often pairs the jacket with a skirt. Here you see Ms. Harris in the piece in November 2016 as she celebrates winning the race for one of California’s US Senate seats.
As the Vice Presidential nominee, then-Senator Harris wore the piece at a September 2020 memorial service for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The current version of the design is the Pietro Jacket ($3590), a single-breasted style made of double-faced wool (99% wool/1 % polyamide). It has a concealed front snap closure, back darts for a tailored fit, and distinctive pleating at the back waist.
It also features slits at the sleeve cuffs and notched lapels.
