We have three ensembles to share from the last week, beginning with the Vice President’s appearance at a private fundraiser for former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. That event was Tuesday, September 14. Below (L to R), DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, Mr. McAuliffe, and Vice President Harris.
Mr. McAuliffe was governor of Virginia from 2014 – 2018 and served in multiple positions for Democratic candidates over the years, as well as a position as chairman of the Democratic National Committee from 2011 – 2005. The gubernatorial race will be decided in Virginia’s general election on November 2.
The Vice President wore a black suit that we have seen recently; it bears a strong resemblance to several of the Prabal Gurung styles worn by Ms. Harris. Beneath the jacket, the Vice President appeared to be wearing what looks like her Cory Tee ($85) by L’Agence.
The Vice President also had on her go-to Irene Neuwirth double-strand necklace and unidentified mabé earrings.
Wednesday, September 15, Vice President Harris joined Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen in a calling for greater investment in childcare. In this photo, you also see Nicholas Knight, a father of three.
More from this Reuters story:
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday called for urgent action to make affordable childcare available to more families, calling such investments critical to ensuring U.S. growth and global competitiveness.
Harris and Yellen lauded a new Treasury report that charts the failures of the current privately-financed childcare system and shows the positive impact for women, families and the overall economy from the increased public spending envisioned in President Joe Biden’s $3.5 billion legislation package.
The Vice President said the administration’s infrastructure legislation will “make childcare affordable for every family.”
The Vice President was in the dark grey UFO (Unidentified Fashion Object) suit and her soft blue Prabal Gurung top. She wore the same jewelry seen at Tuesday’s campaign event for Terry McAuliffe.
On Saturday, the Vice President and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff took in a little football as they attended the Howard University vs. Hampton University game. This was the inaugural Truth and Service Classic, slated to be an annual event. Vice President Harris is a Howard graduate and she visited Hampton last Friday, September 10.
This was also the first football game ever played at Audi Field, home of the Major League Soccer club, DC United.
The Vice President was on hand to do the official coin toss.
A still photo of the toss.
Another view.
Now for our look at what the Vice President wore.
We begin with the Vice President’s jacket, a piece she has had for some time that I have not yet identified. Below, wearing the blazer at a September 2020 campaign event in Milwaukee.
Embed from Getty ImagesIt is a classic single-breasted cut with peak lapels, slightly angled flap pockets, and contrasting buttons at the cuff and front closure. Beneath the jacket, Ms. Harris appeared to be wearing her L’Agence Cory Tee. I don’t know the brand of jeans worn by the Vice President. Her loafers look like they are by Chanel, somewhat similar to the pair shown below left, but not identical to that pair.
The Vice President was wearing two necklaces; I did not recognize either one. I believe one is the Petite Classic Link Necklace in 18K gold with rainbow moonstones ($6750) by Irene Neuwirth, whose designs Ms. Harris wears frequently.
The second style is a wide gold link style that is not yet identified.
We’ll close with a somewhat related note: also on Saturday, the Second Gentleman threw out the first pitch at the Nationals game against the Colorado Rockies. Here is a video showing that event.
