Last week there were fewer public engagements with Vice President Harris than we are used to seeing as she prepped for her Singapore/Vietnam trip and the administration dealt with the Afghanistan crisis. We saw a glimpse of Vice President Harris in a White House photo released Sunday, August 15; the photo shows the President, Vice President, and national security team as they discuss Afghanistan.
Ms. Harris did not have public events on Monday and Tuesday, the 16th or 17th. On Wednesday, August 18, a photo was released by the White House (seen below) of Vice President Harris, President Biden, and national security officials as they discussed Afghanistan.
It’s impossible to say what she was wearing in these photos.
Thursday, the 19th, Vice President Harris was part of the Plenary Session for the annual National Association of Black Journalists Convention and Career Fair.
The Vice President told members, “you turn the light of truth on some of the most consequential issues of our time… You are keeping the American people informed about all of the issues that impact their lives every day.”

The Vice President wore a black suit I’ve not seen previously, a deep brown or maroon top, and her black Newcio heels by Manolo Blahnik.
Jewelry worn throughout the week included her double-strand pearl necklace by Irene Neuwirth and unidentified mabé pearl earrings. Below, the single-strand version of the necklace and the earrings.
Saturday night the President departed for her trip to Singapore and Vietnam.
She wore her navy blue Sergio Hudson bespoke suit, a white top, and the jewelry shown above. We’ll have full coverage of that trip in our next post.
