Vice President Kamala Harris chose familiar styles for last night’s presidential debate in Philadelphia.

She wore her Dior 30 Montaigne Jacket ($5000) and what looked like a version of the Straight Cut Pants ($1650). You have a better look at the ensemble in this photo of the Vice President and Second Gentleman at a Philadelphia watch party they visited after the debate wrapped up.

The jacket and pants are both made in a silk and wool blend fabric. Made in France, the single-breasted jacket “is an emblematic style from the New Look collection, first created by Christian Dior in 1947.” The fitted design features notch lapels, angled pockets, and hand-sewn topstitching. The trousers have a straight silhouette with front pleats and concealed zipper, and they are lined.

We first saw the Vice President wearing the styles in Paris in November 2021. In this photo, she is seen with her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Brigitte Macron.

Ms. Harris appeared to wear the Chloé blouse worn most notably to the Democratic National Convention. The white crepe de chine lavaliere style (also referred to as a pussy bow or tie-neck blouse) features a tone-on-tone stripe and front ties.

She accessorized with her Manolo Blahnik BB90 Pumps ($725) in black leather with a heel just a bit shorter than 3″. The style is a classic silhouette for the brand and a mainstay of its collection.

The Vice President also wore her South Sea Pearl Earrings from the Tiffany Hardwear collection.

There was a bizarre narrative being pushed last night claiming the Vice President wore earrings with an audio receiver. I am comfortable stating that was clearly not the case; these are the same Tiffany earrings she has worn for months. Here is one more image from last night.

I’m sure there will be comments about the prices, but this is really a master class in investment dressing. She has been wearing them constantly for ant least 3 years, and likely will continue to do so.
One more thing: there’s been a flurry of outrage over her Tiffany HardWear necklace – a bold statement piece if there ever was one. She has been decried for wearing a “$60,000+” necklace . It is not. It’s an all-gold $18,500 piece. The $60k+ pieces have diamond pave links; hers does not. I’m not saying $18,500 is chump change – but let’s keep our facts straight. I’m betting this was an extravagant gift from a loving, generous, and wealthy husband.
If she has the money to spend on clothes, why shouldn’t she? Maybe just don’t try to compare herself the less well off people who have to shop with much smaller budgets
“but this is really a master class in investment dressing
Absolutely! Always buy the best you can afford when it comes to staple items.
The above picture is NOT from the debate night, and are NOT the same earrings she wore Tuesday night.
Hello, Parker. I can assure you the photos are all from Tuesday night, September 10, 2024 and the earrings are the same pair worn that night.
I checked with Tiffanys and they do not have that style earring. They have something similar, (double pearl hinged earrings under Tiffany Hatdware) but it only comes in sterling silver., and was never offered in gold?
Hi, Christie. The 18K gold earrings are no longer available online, but they most definitely were sold in the gold version.
They did indeed offer the earrings in 18k yellow gold; I viewed in hand at the flagship store in NYC .
People are running to current websites and trying to do a gotcha with price or availability. I have a bracelet from Tiffany that was 1/3 of what it is now which is 20+ years old, and rings they don’t carry that are from the 90’s. These are forever items , and her clothes are items that are built to last.
I love this site. I am enjoying the articles about her fashion and style, especially her pearls.
Thank you, Chantelle! 🙂
I am really appreciative of your site, the way you reply to commenters and just admire the V.P’s style. I’m here for it, THANK YOU ☺️
This is where I get to say, “No, thank *you*!”☺️
Susan Kelly IS brat!
In my dreams, Keiran, but thank you! ☺️
Love this site interesting to see how she dresses with lots of understated nice pieces still conservative though and I love her formal gowns too! Beautiful woman for sure!
Glad you enjoy it, Ronna!
I would like to know about the ring she was wearing with the purple stone.
I don’t have tons of info on it, Keri, but will see what I can dig up.
It’s her mothers ring. She talks about it in her book.
Thank you, Anne!
