Today I have a quick recap of the styles worn by the Vice President-elect for recent functions and a look at what appears to be a new Michael Kors piece seen last night. UPDATE JAN 6: Michael Kors tells me this is *not* their garment; there is more info below in the post.
We begin with the ensemble worn by Ms. Harris when at the Capitol last Wednesday.
The Vice President-elect was in designs we have seen before. The jacket and scarf are a combination worn during the campaign. Below you see Ms. Harris with Michigan Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist at Headliners Barber Shop in Detroit during a September campaign stop.
The jacket is what we call “UFO,” an Unidentified Fashion Object. This particular jacket is done in a tweedy fabric woven with black, grey, and white fibers that almost looks silver or grey in certain lighting. The blazer has notch lapels, three besom (or jetted) pockets, two front buttons, four-button cuffs. It does not appear to have a back vent. I have not identified the black trousers either (and do not expect to from what I see in available photos) but will continue hunting for the blazer.
The VPE accessorized with her Hermès Kawa Ora Shawl ($1100), a cashmere and silk piece in a design by native New Zealander Te Rangitu Netana. (More about the piece here.)
Ms. Harris also sported her ‘go-to’ Prada boots, shown below as worn on another occasion.
She also had on her Tahitian pearl stud earrings and signature bracelet mix.
Ms. Harris also wore the jacket when making ‘thank you’ calls to frontline nurses on New Year’s Eve.
On New Year’s Day, the Vice President-elect was back on Capitol Hill in an ensemble I can only describe as “a dark suit with a brown or burgundy turtleneck,” as the limited photos are all very dark. The VPE was in her Tahitian pearl studs and standard bracelets as well.

Delivering her remarks at the rally.
The Vice President-elect brought back a jacket we have seen before, a camel color design with a two-button front, notch lapels, hacking-style (angled) flap pockets at the hip, a welt pocket on the chest, and a single button at each cuff with bound buttonholes.
Ms.Harris has worn the jacket before, including for a late October rally in Phoenix, where she was joined by Alicia Keys.
At the Savannah rally, the VPE wore dark trousers that are unidentified and a relatively new pair of Manolo Blahnik boots, the Dildi 70 Tan Nappa Ankle Boots ($298, originally $995).
The pull-on Chelsea-style boots have a point-toe, elastic inserts, back pull tab, and a 2.75″ heel.
Ms. Harris was most recently seen last night when she was picking up takeout from Floriana with her husband, Doug Emhoff. The restaurant is located near the couple’s Dupont Circle home, and it also has a unique Christmas tree out in front.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe tree is decorated with images of President-elect Biden and the VPE with a tree topper featuring an image of the Vice President-elect.
It looks like Ms. Harris may have been wearing a coat by Michael Kors. NOTE: This is *not* a Michael Kors piece; please see update below.
The Cashgora Blend Belted Coat ($3150) is crafted of a mix of virgin wool, angora, and ‘cashgora’ wool. The garment is midi-length with oversized lapels, square patch pockets at the hip, and princess seams. Cashgora is described as a renewable resource that is “a slightly coarser and longer fiber compared to cashmere,” according to the Cashmere People Yarns site.
The coat comes with a self-belt I don’t believe Ms. Harris used last night. The lapels on the VPE’s coat look slightly different from those on the Kors coat, but I think that is a function of how the coat is sitting on her. Otherwise, all seams and pockets line up with the Kors garment. I have contacted Michael Kors for verification Ms. Harris was wearing the piece.
UPDATE JAN 6: I have heard back from Michael Kors, and they say this is *not* their garment. There is a possibility of another designer, Carolina Herrera, with thanks to Kamala’s Closet for the suggestion. The brand’s Wide Lapel Coat ($3190) has similar lapels and pockets, although the lines of the coat itself are quite different.
It is entirely possible Ms. Harris had Carolina Herrera create a custom garment utilizing elements of the coat seen above. I have reached out to the company for confirmation and am also looking at other brands.
Below, a photo of the Vice President-elect and her husband, Doug Emhoff, taking a selfie in front of the Christmas tree.
The Vice President-elect wore another pair of Dilidi Ankle Boots by Manolo Blahnik, this time in black.
Beneath the coat Ms. Harris wore a grey jacket or cardigan, and what looked like a mockneck in dark brown. Below, a social media with Ms. Harris and Mr. Emhoff last night.
Editorial note: The ID categories (you can just hover over the button or click this link) are finally organized with thumbnails of each item; the individual photos link to a page describing the item in more detail. Next up, adding Argent, Escada, and Manolo Blahnik to the ‘Favorites’ list and getting those items organized with thumbnails and individual item pages. An enormous ‘thank you’ to everyone for your patience!

The VPE’s wardrobe is tastefully sleek. When “unmasked” it is her smile which accessories brilliantly – hmmmm…. similar to DoC.
